HERE COMES SUMMER!
The Friends of All Saints’ Church aim to open All Saints’ throughout the summer months – every afternoon from 2.30 to 4.30 pm. The first afternoon this year will be Sunday 12 May, when they hope that as many Custodians as possible can gather for a pre-season get together. Holy Mowers! @ All Saints Churchyard
May 23 @ 10:00 am – 12:30 pm

Come and help tend the churchyard at All Saints (second-largest churchyard in the country). Mow the grass, rake leaves, rake the mowings,  trim the verges, weed round the gravestones, trim the shrubs, flatten the molehills, pull out the suckers, plant bulbs….  You don’t have to do heavy work if you’re not up to it. Come for as long (or short) as you like or just come for coffee at 11.00. The churchyard now looks more loved than ever.

Coffee/tea and fellowship. Volunteers to help serve teas and coffee are welcome. In addition, every third Saturday of the month a full English Breakfast can be bought for £4.00.

Blessing of the Waters 2019 @ The Hard
Jun 2 @ 1:15 pm – 2:00 pm

The Bishop of Colchester, Rt Revd Roger Morris will bless the waters of Brightlingsea Creek & its boats. Brightlingsea’s Cinque Port Deputy’s procession assembles at 12.45 pm outside St James’ Church.
At 1.00 pm the colourful procession of chained & robed mayors, clergy & others sets off following the Church Lads & Church Girls Band to the Hard. The first part of the service is held by Reg White’s memorial at 1.15 pm. The second part with the Blessing of the Waters is on the Town Jetty hammerhead at 1.30 pm. The service is relayed by loudspeakers for those taking part on the Hard.
