Children and Young People

Our Church Lads and Girls Brigade have a weekly Meeting on Friday evenings in St James’.

Age 5-7 is 6pm till 7pm

Age 7 upwards is 7:30pm till 8:30 pm.

All Covid-compliant

We currently have spaces available for all age groups.

Weekly subs are £2.

We currently are looking for a new volunteer leader to help with events and awareness development throughout the Diocese.

We regularly attend the All Age Worship (the first Sunday of every month) and Forest Church Service (once every two months) as a group. Those who can play an instrument are encouraged to join the group accompanying the hymns for the All age worship and those that enjoy the great outdoors or a little bit of bush-craft are encouraged to join us at Forest Church.

Brightlingsea Bears 

“Time with God” from 2.15 pm on the third Wednesday of each month (but not in August) at St James’ Church for Pre-School children (including babies) and their carers.  Refreshments are provided. Contact Ruby Summers on 01206 30 44 81 or

Toy Library 

For children up to the age of 5. Open on Mondays from 9 am to 10.45 am at 4-Youth, 160 Tower Street each week during term time. Closed during school holidays. Next meeting Monday 8th Jan 2018
