Music and the Church

St James Singers

This is an occasional choir which anyone is welcome to join if they can sing in tune.

Thanks to all who sang at the Good Friday Meditation and on Easter Sunday morning.  We will be singing again on Pentecost Sunday at 10.00 at All Saints. We will started practising again for that on Thursday 26th April at St James. Music will include Every time I feel the Spirit by John Rutter.

If you would like to sing with us contact either Carole Warren on 01206 825027  carole.a.warren@btinternet.com  or Chris Bloor 01206 30 33 31 chrisbloor18@talktalk.net

The Church Lads and Church Girls Brigade

Our Company first started in Brightlingsea in 1904 and closed in 1921 due to the First World War.  The present Company was started in 1959 and has continued to the present day. The ages that we work with are 5 years old to 21 years old.  The aim of the Brigade is to extend the Kingdom of Christ among Lads and Girls and our motto is “Fight the Good Fight”.  We do badge work, drill and enjoy Fellowship, Faith and Fun.  Our officers are all DBS checked and have the members’ interests at heart.

The Brigade meets weekly on a Friday at the YMCA Hall (unless otherwise advertised) as follows:

Martins and Y Team: 6.30 – 7.30 pm (5 – 10 years)
Band: 7.30 – 8.30 pm
Juniors and Seniors: 8.30 – 9.30 pm (10 – 21 years)

We are always happy to see new members on Friday nights, so, if anyone wants to come and see what we do and joins they will always be welcome.

For more information pick up a leaflet from inside the Church and see who we are and what we do.  You can also contact Major Hazel Dines on 01206 302541 or email brightlingseaparish@btconnect.com
