Our Lego League Competition Team
On Saturday, March 16th, Lego Church took our competition team, The BrickHeadz, to the America School in London for the Lego League Masterpiece competition. We programmed our robot, Mr Sparkle-Pincher, in x3 matches and gave a presentation to judges about our sustainability project - recycling Lego. Our top score was 125 points and we were all very proud of ourselves. We even earned ourselves a medal!
We cannot wait for next year!
(Please note that we aim to take two teams next year as our Lego Church numbers are steadily growing! However, we cannot do this without funding. We do not charge for Lego Church but any donations are very gratefully received!)
Thank you!
(Dilemma) Dave, Pete, Karen, Alison , Reverend Caroline and Lego Ed!
Lego Church (ages 9-15, school years 5-10)
We meeting every Thursday in St James', from 5pm to 6.30pm. The group is run by David Girdlestone and Rev. Caroline Beckett and is for ages 9-15 (school years 5-10). We explore stories, faith and life through building different Lego structures. The evening includes free building, timed challenges, snack time, builder of the week and more. Lego is supplied by us, creativity is supplied by you!
Our Church-run youth groups are free so that they are accessible to all. We welcome everyone, and happily adapt for disability and neurodiversity, as a number of our young people can tell you. If you would like to give a donation to support our work with young people, we’d be overjoyed!
