Children and young people are warmly welcomed at ALL our services, but some might suit them better than others. The services below are those our current young people tend to prefer….
1st Sunday of every month – All-Age Worship at 10:00 in St. James’
A shorter service without communion with musical instruments, singing, prayers, readings, sometimes drama or puppets, a hunt for the memory verse, interactive talk and refreshments afterwards. Children and young people are invited to take an active part in this service, leading the congregation in prayers and readings, with appropriate support from older members of the church.
2nd Sunday of every month – Forest Church at 2:30pm in All Saints’ Churchyard
An outdoor shorter service with simple prayers, singing, story or reading, nature-based activities to wander and do, sharing time around the fire, with whittling and marshmallow toasting – we meet in the log circle at the end of the long path, at the bottom of the Churchyard. When you get to the end of the path, look left!
3rd Sunday of every month – Sparklers Sunday School 10:00 in St. James’
Our Sunday School have the building to themselves while the adults are at All Saints’. This means they have more space for singing, craft and learning together.
4th Sunday of every month at 10:00 in St. James’ – All Age Communion
A Communion service that involves our young people in different roles and offers something meaningful for every age and stage. For example, children and young people carry the lit candles in the opening procession; they process with the Gospel reader; they receive the gifts brought to the communion table; and they assist the priest at the communion table.
5th Sundays – occasionally Cafe Church or a themed service – look out for announcements!
